Draft horse sanctuary

Was driving around yesterday and found a farm that is a rescue and sanctuary for draft horses, it's nice to see there are people who care about these gentle giants. I'm going to volunteer there and learn how to drive. Very excited

Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue

A place in MD not far from me. There's a lot of rescues around - loads of them have Facebook too.

Thumbs up Gentle Giants

Gentle Giants is a well-regarded rescue. They purchase horses at meat auctions or take ones that are referred by other rescues mostly. The horses get rehabbed and evaluated for abilities and training. Then they get substantial training on them if required. Not one of those "we've got 300 horses and no hay, HELP" rescues.

Man, why can't this rescue be closer to me. Their adoption fees are low! The rescue's around here want just as much as a "regular horse", for lack of a better term, would go for. I would totally adopt one.

...they have a companion mare for $1 o.o!
