The biggest problem with these horses is not that they're extremely rare, or that they're extremely expensive or even ugly.

The problem is that people see certain breeds, and ignore the rest (e.g. Clydes, Shires, Vanners, Percherons, Belgians). They see the beauty in one, and due to bad pictures in books (gets really annoyed) people think that the rest are ugly, when in actuality, they're not!

I am NOT at all saying that CSVPB (look above) are ugly... I'm just saying that they're taking up all the space, while these other horses get left behind. :)

Oh, it's wonderful that you've put this up here!

I love drafts and have several, yeah, four are Gypsies, but I do have an Ardennes...

I can try to get pictures of some of these breeds at my stable if you like -- we have several "different" drafts.

Great photos. A lot of these drafts tho, if not most that were posted are not forgotten, you just need to go to Europe where they are located!!

Does our Nordsvenska Brukshäst (''north swedish draft/work horse''..I don't know if they have an english name..) fit here? :P
They're not as big as many others, but they're known to pull untill they manage to move the carriage/log or dies. Where the much bigger ardenner gives up, the Nordsvensk just pulls untill he gets the carriage/log/whatever moved.

This is Dacke :P He's horribly fat and out of shape.. and doesn't have that lovely mane I love with them.. but still. XD

Btw.. the Dole (or Döle as we call them) is actually a race horse :P
The north swedish horse had a lighter sub-breed or what to call it. North swedish trotter, that had the same registers as Döle before. Now they've changed names and cut the bonds to the north swedish draft, and the trotter is just called coldblooded trtter. But i'f I'm not wrong, kallblodstravaren/coldblood trotter can still breed with Dole.. or something like that. I'm nt into racing anyway xD
