I took some with measurements too. Keep in mind the one with my hand around his cannon bone...I DO have man hands :) Passed down lovingly from my father...lol. Just wanted to give an idea of the size of his cannon's.

That one of his back...I wanted to measure from the base of his withers to the last thoracic vertebrae to give you an idea of how short his back is too.

Bless you for being so wonderful as to rescue horses!

Thank you! I am just one amongst a vast group of others...and I am happy to do it, they are a blessing to me!

Being originally from Europe and growing up with those guys I will definitely say he is one. He isn't your typical red roan, but his confo and build scream it. He's outstanding. I do understand your thinking of not wanting to geld him if he is a rarer breed. Have you checked to see if he happens to have any tattoos? I would contact your local Ardennais association to see if there is any way to tract him down in a registry. If you can't verify what he is and paper him, unfortunately he wont be of good stallion value.

I can't get over how amazing he is! You should invite people over to look at him and charge admission!
