I finally did it !!!

Ok so to mome this may not be a big deal but yesterday for the first time EVER I got into a trot on ben. Ive been so nervous with him being so new to ridding and my confidence is still pretty low. So me my best friend and another friend saddled up two of her horses and i saddled ben and we tryed to ride in her field, but ben was just not wanting to work with me so i got back on him in their round pin which is 14 pannels wide its huge. And he still just didnt want to move. So my best friend got on him and worked him a bit and trotted him and he was doing really great, the only thing he was doing is trying to stop at the gate. So she hoisted me up and i tryed it as well ite was so AWSOME!!!! it may only be a little step but im still very proud of myself. ok sorry for going on so much lol here are some new pics.

Congratulations! Looks great!

Just a question - is that a western saddle and an English bridle? Just curious.

ETA: I think I see you neck reining in one picture and direct reining in another... though I might be wrong. Just wondering.

Again, you two look great together!

Congratulation! (... and those are great pictures).

I'm not arguing with you, I'm just explaining why I'm right.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

It's not always what you say but what they hear.

Don't you love the one where the other horse is licking Ben? Ha ha. Too funny.

How awesome! I got to ride a Belgian one time at an annual Draft Horse show where I am from. (Draft Horse Classic for any of you Northern Californians) It was a dreeeeeeeeeeam! I LOVE LOVE LOVE draft horses, but I am afraid of the bill for their care and feed! LOL

Nice job there! Don't be too nervous, there's a lot to hold on to if he starts acting up! lol If you're confident, he'll be confident. You are doing the right thing with baby steps though to get your confidence through the roof!

Love the licking pic too!

Congrats on the trotting! You two look very good together. I'm working up to cantering my guy so I can relate to your feelings of trepidation!! He's looking really good!

Ya'll look so great together. That pic of him getting licked is just too adorable. Congrats. Just keep working at a pace you are comfortable with and soon you will be loping him across a pasture. If he is anything like my guy, he will have a ground devouring lope. Great Job!!!!

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

I love the pic of him rolling..I've always loved watching horses roll for some reason.

You know, on second glance, I can see that it's a western headstall with a rope halter underneath. Sorry for the confusion. For future reference:

English:

Western:

Hope that helps, when/if you decide to buy your own tack. :]

Congrats on trotting!
