Unless it weighs a ton... it's just a horse. Draft horse motto.

i've always wanted a heavy horse, partly because I'm really tall and I look silly on quarter horses but I just love the nobleness and quiet you can see in their eyes. I've found a couple online but recently I found a beautiful big gelding Belgian x clydey. But where I live there is really rocky roads where i'll be riding pretty often, just to get from a to b and I was wandering whether they get stone bruise more easily because they are heavier? It never occurred to me before but mum was talking about it. I was just wandering what you guys thought since you all own these big beauties.

I ride my heavies over flint, unshod. They do get bruising as all horses do but it is nothing to do with their weight because their feet are designed to support that. It doesn't matter what breed fo horse you ride over rocky ground, you're going to get problems regardless. Its your call. I only ride heavies and they are just fabulous!

She's cute!

ONE horsepower, TWO-THOUSAND lb/ft torque... If it doesn't weigh a ton, it's just a horse....

Here's some more recent pictures of Jozie. She's growing fast!
And I love all the pictures of your guyses drafts! Gorgeous!

Her head is starting to lose the "baby face look", I've noticed this lately!

Her new favorite activity. Lovely!
