Finally its been semi warm enough to ride outside, and I'm able to have recent shots taken of my baby boy. This is Stewie - or show name Victory Shall Be Mine - He is almost 5 (June 17th). He is a clyde/tb cross (50/50)
Here we are in todays lesson.

He is super adorable! How tall is he?

Thanks Thyme.... he was suppose to be purchased as a flip, but I saw some serious talent in him and HAD to keep him.
He was 16.3 when I sticked him over 5 months ago. He's definitely on a growth spurt again! He goes from big moose like legs to handsome fellow.

Ozzys mum, he is gorgeous! Reminds me of Finnegan. Same breed/age, and right at the same height.

I loooooooooove draft mixes. I grew up with them - my family has raised them for work in the bush for years. My first horse was actually a percheron cross and was the sweetest guy in the whole world.

This is River... She's a draft mix with 1/4 Arab thrown in :) (her half sister April is on the left, her dam was a Fjord)

... and the last one is a bunch of drafty mixes doing what they do best!

    Harley :)

    Our Perch/QH

^ I ended up pulling my spur off that foot, I haven't quite gained full control over it after my incident and when I realized I was pinning it to her side whilst jumping... Well, needless to say they were pulled :P

Loooooove QH/perch crosses, they are one of my fave mixes around!

So nice to see fellow drafty cross lovers! I love mine. Wouldn't want to have another kind for a saddle horse. He's a fqh/perch. Such an amazing cross. Super cowy, strong and thinks before he reacts.I personally think that the draft adds to make a nice thinker - one that will stop and assess the situation before loosing his marbles lol. I'll have get some pictures up when I get to a computer.

Fiona, my Irish Draught, is the same way. If something unsettles her... She investigates. It's hilarious since I'm used to the horses turning tail and running (Harley actually does this!) Nope, not Fi, if she doesn't know what it is, she'll blow all the way up to it just to investigate.

I often forget how old Fiona is because she's mature beyond her years.

I don't think I'll ever buy a smaller breed again. Draft/Perch/IDH are amazing.

The horror! It's been over 2 months since I posted Flirt photos here!

He's going feral in the paddock at the moment. Probably should pull him out soon and make him pretty, he's supposed to have a show in 3 and a half weeks...*whistles innocently*

And just a point of reference for how much he's grown, here's Flirt standing beside a hay roll now (and stuffing his face with it as usual!)

And here he is standing beside one the same size (and again, stuffing his face) January last year....
