Here's Lenox, my 12-yr old. She's 16.3hh, and I'm pretty sure she's only half Percheron.

*dreamy sigh* Oh Rafe, how I adore thee and wish my 2 yo looks half as good as you and your brawny self...lol

I LOVE the picture of them in ascending height order, Smrobs, that's awesome!
Been there done that with Bessie before we got the electric fence. She would just walk through it whenever she pleased.

Don't let Rafe fool you, he's not brawny, he's just obese . Even though he's still young, I am considering putting half a dozen rides on him in preparation for a parade and rodeo the end of this month.

I adore that picture too , it will likely never happen again though.

Equiniphile, I *love* that second pic of Lenox! If you didn't see the rest of her body, you'd almost think she was arab.

Claymore doesn't even notice the electric, he just pushes right through it. And I have a 20 mile charger on 7 acres of fence. I have heard people say skip the solar and go with a plug in charger, now I know why.
That's my next project around here, running tape set 6 inches inside the fence instead of electrifying two lines of the fence itself, and getting a whopper of a plug in charger that will set my fence buster on his haunches.

That's what I have done, I've put about 12 rides on Finn now, just walking and getting him starting to learn how to move with weight up there. I do plan to take him on a "real" trail ride in Oct. But we will stick with walking and maybe a little trotting, not doing anything but very light riding with him until next year. I just wanted to get started before the ground was too far away to fall to lol

You're close enough to me - come ride one of mine! Then you WILL want one! Lol

(and Fiona will probably be for sale next year, so I DO have ulterior motives haha!)

Then I'd be bringing one home and my hubby would make me sleep in the barn..no dog house for me but we got plenty of stalls lol!

I'd take your fence buster, he's so darn cute & I'm prepared for his fence shenanigans! We are building new stud lots right now with telephone poles for posts & 3 strands of tape hot wire above the fence inside & out. (My boys would stay in a binder twine fence but have a couple young fellas coming in to train that aren't so mannerly....)

Indy, you might look into a charger designed for cattle. The feedlots use them around here for their pasture cattle and they are so powerful that you can leave the fence down for a week and you still can't drive them across where it used to stand. If you touch it, it will literally knock you on your ass and maybe make you pee yourself. The ones I normally see are hooked to car batteries because there are no electric plugs close by.

Thank you all for the compliments on my monsters .

Too bad we didn't wrap one of those fences around DC when all those politicians were trying to make a break for it before the budget snafu.

I would have paid good money to see a pile of them, pee-stained and all.
