Yes ok koolio that's Alfie ! Everything I ask of him seems to be questioned with WHY ? Although he is improving with age, when he was young even a ' walk on ' meant walk backwards as far as you can go , I am sure he put much more effort into doing the opposite of what I wanted than he would just doing it ! Bless him
And this is my friend's Belgian x TWH gelding, Dan (excuse the ear fuzz from the mammoth donkeys, I was getting mobbed):
Trail riding this summer:
I leased him for a couple of months this summer before I bought Sydney. Weird cross (rescued from a backyard breeder), but he turned out really nice. He can also jump the moon. We have free jumped him just shy of 5 foot and he was doing 3'6'' courses last year. I took him to one hunter/jumper show where he packed me around the cross rails. I wish my mare had his jumping talent, but she is a lot calmer than he is (he's a bit of a spook), and tolerates me wanting to ride 3-4 times a week better (he gets very arena sour with too much schooling). He gaited as a baby but around age 2 stopped gaiting and hasn't gaited since.
