I have a draft cross who is still growing at 4. I've heard they grow until around 6 or so. My farrier has advised that I take it easy riding him until he's around 5. When he was 3 we just did occasional trail rides at mostly the walk, no arena work. When he turned 4, we did longer trail rides and adding trotting and now that he's almost 4 1/2 we'll add a little arena work. I'm not cantering him really until he is 5. He's about 17.3, 1600 lbs. And he's worth the wait

Lessons with babies really vary on the horse and the attention span available that day. As for the height it's hard to say how tall they will be. My mare is sitting 16'1hh right now and she is a year and a half. Both parents were 16'2hh so obviously she's going to reach that

Let's some pics of your baby :)
