Recommended reads on Drafts?

We have a 2yr old draft or draft X but no idea what he's supposed to be. One of those auction horses, might even be a PMU horse, but not for sure on much of his past other than he was nearly starved, nursed back to health and I took him this fall. So, that has piqued my curiosity to want to read up on all things draft. Any "must reads" I should pick up?

Equine Veterinary Nursing Manual by Karen Coumbe, I recommend it to everyone with horses.

Well, I'm looking for Draft horse books specifically. I have general horse books out the "wazu" esp hoof and health/vet type. I know sometimes you buy a book and it's not really filled with much more than the usual generic stuff. I'm looking for DRAFT horse books, breeds, training, tack, etc. but ones that go into more detail that just "Here's a Clydesdale, and a Shire" with a token photo and then moves on to Quarter Horses and Paints in the next paragraph.

Hopefully this uploaded. It's about a month after he arrived here. And he's not starved now. The gal I got him from, did a wonderful job bringing him up to a healthier weight. Yes, he's still thin, but there's plenty of time to put weight on him, and he's already gained about 100 lbs since this pic was taken.

Hes a cute lil thing! He looks like a qh and I can't put my finger on the draft.

Hes got quite a head on him! Lol I'm obsessive with drafts! I'm trying to restrain myself from getting one..we'll see how that goes..:roll:
