Oh she's beautiful and I lurve gypsy vanners.
Don't feel bad at all. You are going to give her a home where she'll have a job which is what a horse needs. Good for the body and mind! I'm sure she'll be snapped up fast. She is a little chunky monkey. Adorable.

Heelsdown, she's definitely not a Gypsy or Gypsy Vanner. If I remember correctly, she's a Gypsy x Percheron.

Yep she is 50% Gypsy And 50% Percheron. As of now she is staying here. I will keep her through winter and maybe put her up for sale when the Grass turns green again. I have a young Girl who rides her now almost daily and they really get along well. So she is being used now. I also had a guy stop by that wants to breed her to a Freisian stallion and then buy the foal when she foals. But I have not called him back. I don't think I want to mess with it.

PunksTank, I just don't think I can let her go. I think I need to just suck it up and come to the understanding she is now my horse and she is a walking money pit. I will probly never see any return on my investment other than the petting and riding and love she gives me in return for feed and care. She always greets me at the gate if she notices I am there. She comes right up and wants some petting when I am out in the pasture. Some times she is a pain in the you know what when I am changing sprinklers. I get almost to the end and the big girl comes up and knocks the hand lines over. I think she gets some pleasure out of it.

Return on investment? Just think of the money you're saving by not paying a counselor!! Think of her as your sounding board, who gives you unconditional love and keeps you sane!
