Hi, I just ran into this page by accident. I have a 5 year old boulonnais stallion. He is imported from France July 9, 2015. I'm replying to your old post because I to love the breed. Your interest in the boulonnais is good. You don't hear much about the breed anywhere.
I don't know how much information you have gotten over the years. But after traveling to France and meeting the breeders of my fine horse I do have current information.i don't know if you could have a quarter boulonnaisor a half. No American has walked on Boulonnais breeding grounds since WW 2. Those were soldiers not buyers. The breeders said they have not seen any American or broker for them. Nor have they sold any boulonnais that went to America.
There has been no boulonnais importation to America since before WW 1. There's no information of the boulonnais horses after 1901. The percheron breeders separated from the boulonnais. That's where the trail of the American boulonnais horse ends.
Also the person that says I have boulonnais for ten years please contact me. My story of the noulonnais coming back to America is at North American Boulonnais Association face book page. I hope to here from you.
