Red face Ultium for Draft?

im ffdfrontmans fiance, and we are about to buy a draft, was wondering if anyone fed ultium, its a low protein high fat diet. ~11cp 12cf. we are trying to find a good feed that we can put the oil on. right now theres a huge hay shortage also and i dont want to feed alfalfa due to its high protein levels, suggestions? prefer purina brands bc they are easily accessable through my feed store.

Ultium is a high performance feed. Is she going to be in consistent work? is she a hard keeper? If the answer is yes to either one of these, Ultium might be a good option. My 1/4 draft is on Ultium and is doing great on it. If she isn't going to be worked or she isn't a hard keeper, Ultium may make her nuts. haha

i was wondering about that. my friend fed ultium to her arabs because the energy provided wasnt a hot energy so they didnt go crazy. who knew drafts were so complicated

whether or not she is worked depends on if shes in foal. if not then we will be working her back into shape, if so she will be worked/exercised lightly just to keep her healthy either way shes a fatty and needs to have some exercise to build her muscle
