I voted "other" because I don't really have a favorite. I have only really had experience with Percherons and Belgians but they each have their qualities that I love. Belgians tend to be more mellow and honest and Percherons are a bit flashier and come in my favorite color, black. I have one of each right now and one half breed of each as well and they all have their own little quirks that draw me to them.
I am biased like a lot of you i love clydesdales because of my boy RED who is only half clydesdale!!! but i justr had to vote for freisan i think they are so beautiful!!!!
To be honest, I have always been partial to Clydes, but its actually very easy to sway me to any draft breed. I've seen some absolutely spectacular horses in all breeds, so it would be hard to really choose one.
From conformation to build, to temper, they all have something amazing to give. Probably would be better to base your decision based on each individual horse itself.
I voted for the Shire. Although I have had a lot of experience with seeing the Begians in pulling competitions the Shire as a breed "tugs at my heart" strings for their passing on to their offspring crossed on Thoroughbred mares the heart and stamina to be 3-day Eventers. One in particular Shire stallion owner I know was challenged to enter her Shire in a Dressage competition just to try to prove her wrong that a Draft could pull it off. Indeed, she and her Shire stallion had the highest score for First Level.
I voted brabant cause really, what's better than a huge, bay roan with tons of black feathers? Having said that, I have 3 perch crosses and love them all dearly, lol
I might be biased as well! But they were bred to be calm enough to be handled by kids, have a great attitude about work, and even my stallion is a perfect gentleman on the trail! Mine is a blue roan with a double sided mane. We are asked to stop for pics everywhere we go! I have pics of him on Big Blue Belgian
I had to pick Shires, because I have wanted one for as long as I can remember. I also love the gypsy's, but shires have been my favorite. I love their huge feathering, big stocky legs and dinner plate feet, and their soft quiet eyes and disposition.
Definitely the Suffolk Punch. My old mare is a Suffolk / cob cross and doing great at 30+ years of age. She's not ridden now but makes a great companion horse - gentle, sweet natured and what we call in the UK a 'good doer' (does well on little feed!).
They are an endangered breed now. To see more about them please follow this link
Well I had to vote for Haflingers of course, but it makes me sad not to be able to vote for ALL of them.
