Appy Gilmore and I in our first ever Kur

I've been so scared of doing a kur for some reason, and I wasn't going to do it, but it was actually fun. I can't wait until we can progress through to level one, and some lateral movements in there

Anyway here we go, enjoy

I have no idea of the scores yet, it was a video test, it was an International Competition so videos will be sent in from all over the world, and then they will be marked

Aw, you and AG look so good together. He's an absolute darling .

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

Congrats! It was a nice ride and he was trying hard for you!

Just curious (as I never looked into freestyle)... Is it a freestyle thing that you bow almost at the gate in the very beginning? Or there is no rule on how you start in freestyle?

Freestyle you can start where you like, and as we usually struggle with our straight and true entry to X, we decided not to do that

Our free walk isn't that strong either so we planned that in for the far end of the arena and walking away from the judge, that's why I suddenly decided that Freestyle is good, you can craft it to suit you and your horse

Yes, that's a smart approach.

Hmmmm.... I have to talk to my trainer if I can try one too - that would be pretty cool.

Is that what "kur" means? Freestyle? YOu can do it in a western saddle? Cool!
Love Appy G. I would so love to ride him , as I have a soft spot for Appys.

Nice ride and he looks very well attuned to you.

I am clueless about dressage so no critique there.

I love that you rode western and how can you go wrong with the king of country for your music choice?!

You guys make a great pair. Appy G is too cute and I love his chunky butt!

LOL, MHF I figured I needed all the help I could get and who doesn't like George??

We allow both English and Western turnout, but both are judged by classical guidelines. It's a good way of getting people interested, I started 100% western, then converted to English, but I just couldn't do that song in breeches, just wouldn't work

Best of luck! Thanks for sharing, I don't think I've seen one of these before.

And can I just mention that I love that his name is Appy Gilmore?! I think I've only seen you refer to him as g man.
