Back from the show!

Pony and I are exhausted, but I'm extremely pleased with how things went.

Opted to ride Training Level again because of an injury he had a couple of weeks ago, but it was good and consistent. It was his 2nd real show, and first show outside, and first time to be judged by FEI judges. Friday we had a really nice couple of rides, getting us a 64% and a 63%, with helpful remarks. 8s in our trot work which was nice. 5s in our walk, which was sad, but expected. I just can't seem to get a nice walk with him undersaddle yet; he has it by himself, but I continuously manage to screw around with it.

Saturday was much of the same, except pony's legs were stocking up with fluid because he was not relaxing and sleeping. So he warmed up really stiff, but was consistent in the test, almost identical marks, scoring a 63%.

Today, we were both "blah" I was getting stiff and sore and cranky, he was getting stiff and sore and cranky ;) Unfortunately, we both kinda let things go for test 4. Our trot work was nice and forward. I was pleased with our first canter circle, unfortunately, in the 2nd, the photographer dropped her stand right to the side of us, causing pony to bolt, and our 20m circle soon became 45m before I was back under control ;) And then, I'm not sure where my mind was, because the last part of T4 is "at b half circle to x, and then proceed to g and salute" I just didn't comprehend that half circle thing to X, got panicked, yanked him around so hard he actually did a pirouette and like bolted up to X, convinced I was late...for something! Got a 4 on that, with judge's comments of "Interesting choice to do a pirouette. Not needed though." Finished off with a 60.3%.

However, despite that rather lackluster ride, I was awared Reserve Champion for Training Level with a medium score of 63.2%, so I was quite pleased with that.

Got some pictures of our rides!

Also got to meet Anebels freakishly cute superhorse gelding-hopefully she'll post some pictures of him as well, because he did extremely well!

That's awesome! Right now I'm really jealous, I haven't shown all year for lack of a horse to do it on. Though we're thinking about using Allegra...Ha, that'd be interesting.

Good job and your horse is like, really cute! If he, uhm, suddenly vanishes, I didn't do it. O.o

YOUR HORSE is fricking cute and I luffs him.

Ok I only had one test outside and because the photographer is weird she didn't take ANY indoor pictures. So I only have two pictures that were half decent. They are from Sunday, when I had no warmup from Bonnie and my horse was so tired so the expression on my face is horrible and I have my face pressed so hard into my neck to get that last bit of half halt that I have 3 chins.
So. They aren't the best.

Do you mind if I just hi-jack your thread and post an update too, or should I do a new thread??

Ok well, warm-up on Thursday, my horse was awesome. We went to the indoor because as I've said, I only had one class that wasn't in there. I was so happy he wasn't extremely spooky at the door because the footing in that indoor is amazing.
Friday I was out to lunch, couldn't sit the trot to save my life and had a bit of a horrific test, ended up with a 63% in Second level test 3 under an FEI judge. After talking to my coach for an hour and verbally getting my ass kicked...
Saturday I was in gear and had a really good (albeit long) warmup for Second Level test 2 riding under FEI judge Jayne Ayers (she judged entire 20-30 horse classes and gave out one score above 60%) and ended up with a 70% and a score of 8 for the rider. I was so happy with that!!
Sunday I woke up at the crack of dawn to be the third rider in the morning -_- I didn't have my coach to warm me up so I was flying by the seat of by breeches. Second level test 4 under an EC "B" judge, and I ended up with the highest score in the class (AA, Jr, and Open) 66.9%. And to finish off the day I rode in the Dressage Seat Equitation and got first place out of 4 riders.
Then I got to wait around for nearly 5 hours >.< for championship results. Holy bejeezus was the show office disorganized!! But we ended up Second Level Overall Champions (Jr/AA/Open combined) and got a cooler, a ribbon and an entire $0 in prize money. So now I have another cooler to add to my stack of at least a dozen coolers and a $2 ribbon. I really would have preferred a saddle pad..
And I won the volunteer draw :P I got an awesome Ariat bag that I've always wanted but kept putting off buying.

So my horse was fantastic, I was great when it suited me, the show grounds were wonderful, but big and the show office was.. interesting??
Pictures!

And Skyhuntress did an awesome job too! (Her horse is 100x cuter in person)
