Oh, and I also forgot.... CIN HATES FLASHES lol. He tosses his head like an idiot. I've had 3 different trainers try to get me to work him with his flash and usually within a month each trainer has told me to get that darn thing off him ha ha. He just won't relax no matter how loose, tight etc it is... we've tried adjusting all sorts of ways, no dice. He throws his head up, tosses it side to side, and just freaks in general as if he's got one of those steel claw traps on him. It's really odd.

You are only looking for flat, not padded? ebay has a lot of bridles that I find are pretty good quality. The trick is finding one that isn't a crank noseband.

Have you tried victorycanter dot com ? They have pretty nice bridles in black.

Good luck!

And I agree.. match the saddle!

Cinny, what about the Suffolk one?

Suffolk Black Dressage Bridle | Dover Saddlery

Suffolk Black/White Dressage Bridle | Dover Saddlery

This is one from Smartpack with very good reviews:

Plymouth Dressage Bridle by SmartPak - Dressage Bridles from SmartPak Equine

P.S> Yeah, all with flash, but you can remove it.

Yes, I think he looks better with the flat, and I am trying to stay away from the white padding because my current show bridle has the white padding and it's a pain. Plus, if I want that look one day, I already have it. Kind of nice to have two different looks. I am also planning on putting some "bling" on the browband and I don't think it looks as good when you have the white padding.

Hmm, here are a few I've found.

Kincade Flat Cavesson Bridle - Horse Power Warehouse

Saddlecraft Flat Cavesson Bridle, Double Bridles, Performance Bridles, Pony Bridles, Dressage Bridles, Horseland

Gatsby Flat Snaffle Bridle Bridles Tack English

Victory Canter English Tack & Apparel - Horse Tack - Bridles - Plain & Plain Raised - Wintec Bridle

That should help a bit :)

I think I like the Gatsby Flat Snaffle the most.

The Gatsby is the one I use for every day work, the one I love. It doesn't come in black either.

EDIT: has a few

The one that reads

Is nice.

And this one

BRAND NEW! Black full-size bridle with flat reins with bit guards. Browband and caveson nosepiece are approximately 3/4 inch wide and single ply. Reins have stops near the bit ends. $25

I ride, and show, dressage with a black saddle and brown bridle. There are no rules that it needs to match and my mare is light chestnut and white so the black is very stark against her face, where the havana is more subtle and flatters her head more.

I wanted a brown dressage saddle, as I hate black tack, period, but alas, they are difficult to find.

Well, I bought the 29 dollar bridle I liked. It has arrived and it is sooooo dark, you would almost swear it's black. Almost a Dark dark sable. I think for the lower level stuff that I do, it will be fine. We are looking at Intro/training levels so..

But now I have to wait to try it out because I messed up my shoulder :( Per doctors orders I'm not to even LEAD a horse for at least 2 weeks :(
