cost of lessons

I was wondering what people pay for lessons. With your own mount or with the instructors mount.

I use the instructors mount and its $210 a month. For usually 4 lessons, some months there's 5. So pretty much $50 a lesson using the instructors mount.

$45 a month using my instructors horse. That's $15 everytime but I'm really close friends with her so I get a deal. =)

To see the wind's power, the rain's cleansing, and the sun's radiant life, one need only to look at the horse.

Around here where I live it's usually 35-45 for a lesson on a lesson horse and usually about 10$ less on your own as far as I've seen.
I don't do lessons though (Wish I could afford to)

I'm mates with my coach so do get mates rates and free lessons for having one of her horses agisted on my property. But I think from memory, the usual rate for a 45 minute private lesson on your own horse is around $60, on one of her school horses is about $70 and on her retired FEI horse $80.
For a group lesson (2 or more riders) on your own horse for an hour is $40, on her school horses it is about $50... from memory of what some of her students have told me, I havent ridde her school horses :S

Im starting lessons up with a new trainer in town. She is only 19 (though she has her bronze with USEF for dressage (working for silver) and is a great young rider), so she has her lessons cheap ($30). Seems like a good deal to me. =]

I work with another dressage trainer sometimes who is $50. And I take monthly clinics from my aunt and that is $60 per lesson. =]

I ride my own horse....

I take Dressage lessons for nothing at the stable I am at now. They charge no one anything to learn to ride. If only all stables were like that.

All horses deserve, at least once in their lives, to be loved by a little girl.

it all depends though. My instructor went to the olympics so she charges a lot. All the other mediocre stables i've ridden at are $25-30 for a group lesson on a lesson horse.

I pay 22.50 for a 45 min with my english instructor in a group lesson and $20.00 for a western private lesson. My western lessons are usually a hour and a half but I've been there up to 3 hours. Every other time I pay $30.00 because she helps me a lot. The prices of my lessons don't change if I use one of my horses or my instructors. I've got two really good instructor that give lessons to help me with my riding, not make a huge profit.
