My first riding instructor when I was kid told me that too!

Wares, it certainly has been true for me ;) And I've also jumped, been whacked in the face and bitten my tongue pretty hard. Still haven't learnt my lesson!

He is anebel, losing all those baby curves! About 6 weeks ago he looked MASSIVE and now he is looking a bit scrawny again.. shot up! I think he stands at 172cm.. 17hh now :s

He is looking lovely.

I too look down when I'm riding, but strangly I tend to look at his shoulders not his head (where most people look). My instructor is also fond of the "if you look down you will end up down there!!"

Then illness after illness after illness. My poor Dobbie has barely seen me, and when he has, I've had to plonk other riders on his back. To be fair, the two ladies who have helped me out have done a stirling job, and one offered him a home.

Today we felt the first 'power' from behind. I can't believe he worked so hard and well after that amount of time off. He was phenomenal.. really REALLY powered down the long side all from behind, no running... even my trainer had her mouth hanging open! We asked for a bit more.. and more is what we got ;D

After my distress of trying to find a yard, and thinking I would have to perhaps sell.. there is no chance right now. I am so in love with that little horse!

But, some updates! Excuse the blurry, camera is good, but not fast enough to keep up with us!

Teeheee were you saying woah in 2nd pic?

It's my concentration tick, and the worst habit to have.. get headbutted or a horse spooks.. chomp. I have chomped it before and left a nice blood trail in the sand!

I really like him, DD. Glad you found him! :)

P.S. I recently got new Sony camera (one of those slim ones) - it seems to be really good at catching fast movement....

Thanks Val :)

The owner of his field buddy got some lovely pics of him in the field munching on grass.. which is a change because normally he spends his time going doolally!!

He is such a lovely boy. I haven't been able to ride properly in three weeks, nearly four, due to illness. That ride is the only real ride I had.. only a short one and I slept 15hrs after it!

Can't wait to get back on him though :(
