im very lucky, at the barn i board at there are very few DQ's well, the horses do get massages and therapy and stuff like that, but the owners are very down to earth, and they all know trail riding is healthy for the horse

the only real DQ at this barn is my half/friend (shes the ONLY kid my age at the barn!) one time, it was a beatiful day,so i thought the hroses would enjoy a little hack out back AFTER our workout. so once we were both done riding i said: hey do u wanna talk them for a little hack to cool them out and let them relax? she said: WHY WOULD I DO THAT?? (with a crazy look on her face) me and my WARMBLOOD(I had a thoroughbred at the time and she always rubbed it in my face that she had a warmblood... thorougbred are just as good, i HATE when peopple degrade them!) are in training. my jaw almost dropped open, first of all, if your in hard training, a hack after you owrkout will NOT have a negative affect, it will actually help in some cases, second of all, her warmblood would FREAK if she tryed HALF the things i did on my thoroughbred with her warmblood. i had to just shut my mouth and pat my horse to keep myself from punching her :P i dont get why people think trail rides are so bad for their horses?!!?!? i ride half passes and am working up to flying changes with my horse and we still go on plenty of hacks. i think it helps her relax and not turn sour about working.

Yeah, I'm moving to another new barn in two weeks. Life's too short to deal with that type of crap. No biggie. I didn't like my current barn choice anyway. At the new place, Puck will have a much larger turnout, I'll have a lot more access to trails, other adult riders and I'll be able to construct my own little XC practice course. Sweet! We're moving in 2 weeks. Hopefully the people there will all come as advertised.

Totally understand. I made that mistake at the "facility" I moved Nelson to before the barn we are now at.

I was told alot of things that were supposedly going to be, and when I got there expecting what I was made to believe what it was - it wasn't. At all.

To boot, Nelson lost 300 pounds there.

That is wonderful! I wish you and Puck all the best! I'm excited for you!
