Dr Reiner Klimke

Hey everyone,
After trivia night on Judge my Ride on FB, Kevin (the host) and I were discussing why he has the title "DR" when his profession was a lawyer. Anyone know this? He was a German Dressage Rider competed in 1960 to 1997 in dressage. Was an eventer before. Thanks!

Most likely because he had his PHD, anyone with a PHD can put Dr. In front of their name, no matter what their degree was for.

As the above people has said, if you've got a PhD you can have Dr in front of your name. Dr isn't just a general practitioner/medical doctor, however we're just brought up thinking that a doctor is someone who fixes us health wise!

Thanks everyone, I understand having a phd and all that jazz, was wondering if anyone knew what it was.
Think I'm going to find a book on him to find out more. =]
