Dressage Freestyle Music-Ideas?

I'm planning to ride in a musical freestyle competition with my new eventer and I can't find any music I like. There are no rules to what music can and cannot be ridden to, I'd just like to steer clear of heavy cursing, screaming, or anything utterly distracting. With or without lyrics is fine. He's fairly quick. I've never taken a count of beat/min. Thanks!

Green Broke
I have always wanted to do a freestyle to Kids, by MGMT.

It has a rhythm that works with any gait.

What type of movement does your horse have? Is it short like a pony's or big and long like a warmblood's? What level are you doing?

This could be for walk or canter. The end would be more suitable for an intense canter I think.

He's a long, sweepy mover when he's not collected up. He's been working around USEA Training Level. His worst problem in the training level tests is getting on the bit and keeping on the bit.

Thanks again for offering some ideas!

Just remember when you count beats per minute , for timing, that Canter needs a 4 beat music (one for the suspension beat). (I mean 4/4 timing, not 3/4 timing)

I don't have any music suggestions, but you said lyrics or not are fine. I'd like to point out that singing/words/lyrics in a musical freestyle is very heavily frowned upon and discouraged by judges. Often times you'll get marked down for it.

I always thought the openning song on the Beattles "Sargeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band" would be an awesom openner.

I'm not doing a big, serious show. This is going to just be at a season opener/fun show. Also, lyrics are becoming more and more common among higher level freestyles as well, not overpowering lyrics, but quiet, calm lyrics.

Thanks for all the ideas.

How about something majestic like Wagner's Ride of the Walkyries?! That could be pretty impressive!

That is a wonderful idea! Oh my gosh, I love it!(:
