Dressage, and I?

I've always been interested in Dressage.
I was wondering how I would start?

Well, first do you think Hotrod has what it takes for English?
I'm new at English, I know part near nothing about it..
I've only ridden Western..

I would really like to learn English & Dressage.
I am really interested in it.
Just my knowledge isn't keen on it.

The only thing I can suggest is lessons. From a GOOD trainer.
It's hard to understand the concepts by just reading and watching videos.

I give myself very good advice, But I very seldom follow it

Well your guy is going to have the height to look good under an english saddle I think. And his sire doesn't look like an overly thick horse so I think he'll be just fine.

I suggest getting a trainer/coach as well. I don't ride english, but I know it's ALOT different from western.

Also we have a local AQHA stallion that has done wonders for himself in Dressage, he's a little machine.

If you can, get some lessons on an already trained dressage horse so you get the idea and feel of what dressage is about. Then if you enjoy it (which no doubt you will!) you can find a trainer you are happy with and start schooling your boy in the ways of dressage.
And don't let people tell you that just because your horse 'doesn't look like a dressage horse' (and by this I mean colouring and overall 'look') that you can't do it. I happily prove them wrong on a regular basis - come to the dark side and get the dressage bug

Haha, sorry I just started getting back on, and forgot some of my threads!

I am realy thinking about getting the bug, and coming to the darkside
(evil laugh & evil whinny'hotrod')

If I need any help I will definetly come here, and ask :)
Hotrod just seems like a blank canvas, and I can't paint anything I want on him. He seems to be very willing, and excited about everything I do with him.
