I believe the Thornhill saddles are German designed, so that might be where the confusion is creeping in. FWIW, I am on my second Thornhill Zurich (fatty mare outgrew the first one), and I continue to be pleased with the quality.

Ah yes that could be it. Am I mistaken or do the ebay sites say that they are "German made" I could swear that is what they say but I may be wrong.
Are they Argentine made? Kitten_Val said that's where she thought they were making them.
I was just wondering if anyone knows for sure?

Anyway I like my older one and am thinking of getting a wider one for me big gelding. I'd LOVE to find another used one ;)

Not entirely sure where they're made. My Zurich has French calf leather on the knee rolls and is German schrumpleder on the rest of it, but I don't actually know where it was assembled. Thornhill is based out of Pennsylvania, and they've always been very helpful when I've called with questions (I once came across a one-off that they'd made as a sample/prototype and they spent a ton of time looking into old records to figure out more info on it), so it might be worth just calling them up and asking.
