Dressage Saddle Suggestions

I've been having problems with my saddle lately in that it fits my horse, but it doesn't fit me. It's a wide 17" Keiffer dressage saddle. I've found that the knee rolls come down too low and are actually pushing my knees out which causes them to ache, makes my toes point out even more than they already do, and almost puts my leg out of place. I'm not sure if this helps but I'm around 5'6" and mostly leg.

It's fine for now but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for saddles to look at.

I'd like to stay away from anything synthetic because I don't really enjoy their "feel" or look for that matter.

As of right now I don't really have a budget as I'm just starting to save towards a new saddle.

Thanks in advanced!

Saddle preferences vary so much between individual tastes...you can ask people all day what they like, but you may sit in the same saddle and hate it. I would suggest you go to a tack shop or saddlery and sit in as many models as you can. Go to every tack shop in your area..realllllly shop around.

With that being said, I have literally never heard a negative word about Black Country's.

I have had good luck with Schleese saddles. Most of them now have knee rolls/thigh blocks that go on with velcro so you can change them. There are also used ones available in lots of models. I don't like big thigh blocks so I bought real small Wintec ones and use them on my Schleese saddle. The saddles are also very adjustable so you can get it fit to your horse.

I have Thornhill Vienna and love it (I have long legs too BTW ). Their Klasse is even better (but wider). The only problem those saddles are designed towards wider horses.

Black Country is amazing, BUT very pricey...
