First Dressage Test.

Heyy,

So we're joining pony club. So I was hunting around the dressage test book and I found the easiest one. We're new to dressage so I figured start very easy and come out with a good score. So a heap of people have seen videos, pictures, ect of us riding and how do you think we'd go?

http://www.pcaq.asn.au/Rule%20Books/...Jan%202005.pdf

Its the one on the 3rd page.

Thanks In Advance.

I bet you guys would be fine! Just remember that for a free walk, you don't want to just drop the reins all of a sudden, you want Chinga to 'chew' the reins out of your hands gradually. I know that chew is the wrong word to say what I'm trying to say, but whatever :). Also, don't practice the full test a lot, just snippets that you and Chinga were having trouble with. But I think you guys would do really well! Good for you for picking a test that isn't to hard- so many people over-estimate their abilities and go for a difficult test that they can't ride.

Thanks, your words really helped us out. If it wasn't age groups I know I would be against 6 year olds (hehe) but I'm sure there will be other people with horses on their first ever dressage test. I've done "fake" comps. But never a real dressage test, I'll post the date once I find out. I'm hoping to pick up the markers today, and do some dressage practise.

Yes, I can see us going well. But no matter what, we both will be nervous so anything over 50% I would be super pleased about. Does anyone know the pony club, dressage uniform?

Are you a member of a pony club? If so, the dress code is usually your formal pony club uniform, so club shirt, tie, jumper and beige/bannana/cream jods.

If you're not a pony club member and the competition is being run by a PC but open riders are allowed to enter, it is usually a shirt, tie/stock, light jods, and a jacket.
