First lesson on my horse

Hi. Today I took my first lesson on my horse. I've taken dressage lessons in the past on schooll horses but thought both me and my horse could benefit from an instuctor. We worked on getting bend since Phoenix is basically a fence with no bend; luckily he seems to enjoy learning and learns quickly. His bending improved over the lesson and I came away with homework. I've also got homework with regards to my position.

The fact we had a lesson is great, what's even better is the instructor was very complimentary about Phoenix and told me not to give up on him. If I could get this horse to training level and have him be solid I would be thrilled; I never thought he'd amount to anything but now I'm hopeful that him and his wonky hip and godawful canter might have a tiny bit of potential. I'm so proud of my boys work today!

Thanks. It's great when you feel like you've accomplished something, even if that something is very tiny. I'm also lucky in that he's one of those horses that will think about what he's learned and when I go over today's stuff with him he'll remember it and we won't be back to square one.
