    Friesians in Dressage

I know, I know! This has already been deeply discussed, argued, and obsessed over but I posted something in the Eventing sub-forum, wondering about the best breed for Eventing (thanks to anyone who answered--you helped a lot!) and people said Friesians were NOT the best for dressage and also mentioned that this topic was being discussed at length. I promised myself I'd read into it today but then it was gone! Sorry! Anyway, why don't YOU like Friesians for dressage? Not what your trainer or friend told you, why don't YOU? Or...why DO you??? I personally think they are really beautiful and graceful...but then again, any horse can be! So, why or why aren't Friesians good for dressage?

Fresians were bred for pulling carts so many have difficulty with the demands of higher level dressage. As a breed they weren't really intended as a riding horse. Take a look at videos of the upper level competitions and count the Fresians.

They're beautiful and majestic and all that but simply are not built to maximize dressage potential.

Just my opinion as a non expert :)

I couldn't find it so I figured it must be old and starting a new one wouldn't be a bad idea :)
