What girths do you use? I used to use wintec dressage girths but on several occasions, they slipped when getting on and off (and yes, they were tightened properly) it would just get sweaty and slip right off. Not a pleasant feeling. So I'm looking for something that WON'T SLIP, is comfy for the horse, and won't cause excessive sweating around the girt area. And one that isn't too expensive. Anything more than $60 is just tooo much!

What? Nobody uses a girth? They just balance up there?

I use Pro Choice (synthetic non-slip) on both - dressage and CC - saddles. Never had an issue with slipping.

No girth for me! It's a skill I've spent my years refining.

COURBETTE NEOPRENE DRESSAGE GIRTH shock absorbent and non slip. I absolutely love it! It was $44 I think with tax at my local tack shop! I have never had an issue with slipping or anything of the sort!

I have a custom girth that cost me about $160 - I really like it as it doesn't slip, doesn't rub and fits on my horse very well. IMO you get what you pay for, and leather or sheepskin are the best things to put against your horse's skin, but also are more expensive.

What about fleece instead of sheepskin?

Which would you rather have belted onto your skin during exercise?

I've used a number of girths on my horse and because he has weirdly sensitive skin, the only ones that don't rub him are Wintecs. I really don't know why, but he loves the Wintecs so I just stick with them.

That being said, if you have a horse less odd than mine, I'd invest in a leather girth with sheepskin (if you can afford it), they're generally the best quality and I've never had slipping issues with them

Well I can't say I've ever had an issue with fleece. I find it right comfy.
