Great Clinician

Wayne Quarles !!!!!!

If you get the opportunity to ride and/or audit one of his clinics, please do so. He is most helpful.

I've heard he's very good with basics but a lot of the upper level riders don't find him too helpful.
He has quite the eventing background and mostly does eventing dressage judging and the breed shows, if memory serves. He is only an "R" judge, which means he can't judge the FEI levels, and so wouldn't get hired for too many national level dressage shows.

I'm sure he is wonderful for an AA type clinic, but wouldn't draw the professionals. What are his rates like?

I believe about $80.00
Even the pros would benefit, but of course the ego can get in the way. The reason dressage is going the way it has like at WEG is because the basics are not being adhered to by the pros.
The rules are not being adhered to because the basics are being ignored.

Really? That's nice.

Have you watched some upper level clinicians teaching the basics to young horses and young riders? You might be surprised. DressageClinic.com The Ultimate Dressage Training Videos is a great website.

100% agree. ANY good trainer starts with the solid basics, it doesn't depend on discipline. In my personal experience (and that may not be true for everyone) dressage trainers were much more effective in putting the basics on greenies than eventing instructors.

With that being said I have no idea about Wayne Quarles as I've never watched him working with the horse. Very well may be he's absolutely fantastic.
