    How about this? I like this fellow myself (and he's a present day trainer).

    Since we only seem to come up with examples of what we want from the Iberian horse or very much older pictures here is one from the modern era and definitely NOT Iberian

    Hilda Gurney and her TB horse Keen.

    These are all riders in the "modern" day ring;

    Ms. Alexandra Korelova and Balagur. There is a short bio in the description of the first video.

    Rising star, Matthias Alexander Rath and Sterntaler.

    Richard Davison and the young horse Artemis - only recently having made his international debut!

    Beautiful Keen! Thanks for the links, too. I've been kinda "re-inventing" dressage for myself, I don't have to agree with the judges, just deciding what it is I like best in warching Dressage (competitive) so this thread has been quite interesting and challending.

    Curious what you think of the first rider on the grey horse in the above videos. Tail is swishing away the entire ride, but the poll is in the textbook highest point location and head never comes behind the vertical. Would you say this horse is working properly or not?

    I will point out that occasionally horses who are otherwise schooled in what might be considered an "incorrect" headset are still shown in a "poll at the highest point" frame. It's the training getting there that often proves to be the challenge. Judges don't know how you school your horse, they just see what's in front of them.

    I have to say, one of my favourite trainers/riders is Anabel Balkenhol because I absalutly LOVE her dads training methods.
