How do I know if the saddle fits me?

I know my saddle fits Bourbon, but how do I know it fits me?

I can fit one hand in front and one hand in back while I'm sitting in it, and it's comfortable, but my knees stick past the flap. I have ridden hunters all my life, so I'm thinking it may just be because I ride with short stirrups? How can I tell if the saddle actually fits me?

If you're knee overshoots the flap while you're seated with you stirrups a jumping length, that's normal. If however, they overshoot when you're in your half seat or 2 points, the flap is to straight for your legs. My legs overshoot everything. I ended up with a Pessoa forward flap.

Post a photo of you sitting in the saddle. It would help us if we can see your saddle/posture in the saddle.

Oh duh, I forgot this was a dressage forum. Nevermind my answer. It probably is just you being used to riding in a forward seat with shorter stirrups. Like Allison said, pics would help.
