Interesting article.

There was an interesting article in today's paper about Carl Hester.

One of th things that was noticed was how all the stables were empty because all the horses were turned up.
He works the horses for an hour four days a week in the arena, then they are turned out. Two days they are taken for long fun hacks.

One horse spends nights out during the summer.

This is a man who knows that the mental welfare is as important as the physical.
Wallaby, ponyboy, egrogan and 3 others like this.

Not a lot of top riders take mental welfare into consideration and its relieving to see somebody care for the horses happiness and not just their health :)

He received many offers for his horse and Valegro - enough to pay off his mortgage and but some very good horses but he turned them down.

He does care for his animals, no doubt about it.

He bought Valegro for £3,500 - not a lot of money!
