    A Lightbulb Moment

Ever wonder how a trainer can tell you the same thing over and over again each week, pounding it into your head for, in this case 10 weeks, and you just now "get it?"

Trainer says inside leg to outside hand, you want to keep the horse on the outside aids but darned if I could feel when Rigo wasn't on the outside aids..until tonight when I had that lightbulb moment...gee, when Rigo drops my outside aids the outside rein essentially goes loose. The feeling is quite obvious so why did it take 10 weeks before I finally figured it out??? :)

The good part of this is that now I can feel the loss and can make a better and more timely correction.
    Weezilla and Bagheera like this.

Sometimes it just takes time to acquire a feel for what is being explained to you. Now that you've have the first light bulb moment, I can guarantee the next ones will come to you faster and faster throughout your riding career. Each moment builds on the next. Happy riding to you and remember to have fun! :)

Nice! That's a great lightbulb to have, it will make the whole process a smidgen smoother as you go along. Keep it up!
