What I want to know is how the hell the Russian guy qualified. I can ride a test far better than he can and i'm not an olympian!

I wasn't awake in time to see the Russian guy. Anyone know if a video is available? I searched in youtube but nothing yet.

And it's just for curiosity on my part. I bet he's a far better rider than I am.

What order did the Russian guy ride? I want to watch the giraffe ride! My streaming is a bit jumpy, but it's better than nothing.

I have to agree with Faye, I was embarresed for him. It was a horrific test, the horse will struggle doing anything in SJ/XC from what you could see of the test, the canter was so unorganised, head up and tense... but not in the spooky sort of I WANNA GOO way, but the, I have a beginner on my back so I will make them work.

He got 80.70, I'm sure.. was horrific :S
I have to admit I turned it over for most of it, I was not impressed by the riding from some of the countries, and how harsh the riders were.

After being out for a meal and drinks for my birthday, no names are currently forming in my head, but I shall re-post tomorrow.

I appreciate that these horses are supposed to excel in all three areas, but some of the riders treat the dressage as the 'do I have to' rather than the 'Lets make our country proud' which is sad.

80% minimum of those horses are built to jump, jump, and jump.. dressage is not their natural forte, but there was some outstanding riding and horses with a lot of continuity within their gaits, suppleness and happy riders.

    Can't wait to see more

Very disappointed to see so many empty seats in a 'sell out' area though!!

Ugh! You poor thing! If you want to feed your Olympic fever ABC Grandstand is broadcasting it on radio - but dressage doesn't make very good radio lol.

I'm always fairly unimpressed with the 3DE dressage, most of the horses seem really stiff and unnatural and I've seen better dressage riders than some of the ones competing in London at our local dressage comp. All I saw from yesterday was tense horses, choppy strides, rough transitions and no great degree of collection or extension.
