rider's surgery

Hello everybody,
I had a hernia surgery two days ago. Before the surgery I used to ride dressage 6 days a week. I wonder if any of you had had an abdominal surgery and long after surgery you were back to normal riding?
Any experience sharing on that is appreciated.

Talk to your doctor. None of us on here are medical practitioners, and if we were, we would be telling you that without examining you, we couldn't make an opinion.

I agree with Chiilaa. It's something to discuss with the doctor.

I don't know about your type of surgery, but couple people who had C-section started riding in 4 weeks after the one. Which sounds crazy to me...

When I had my hysterectomy awhile back, my Dr. Insisted on staying off the horse for 8 weeks. You really need to heal well so there are no complications.

Hi, and how long after surgery you ended up riding? How did you feel?
I have dressage classes planned between the 2nd and 17th of January 2013.
That would be one riding a day! I hope I can make it.
