Oh for crying out loud! I'm not a huge fan of Romney's politics, but that video was extremely petty and misinformed. Seriously they couldn't do a little research on the benefits of therapeutic riding? Not to mention that is has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the campaign or the important issues the American people SHOULD be basing their decision on. This is why I can't stand politics. All the mud slinging, finger pointing and name calling while dancing around the actual issues that matter. So sad.
It's more than just 'politics'. It's the news media in general. I believe anyone would be hard pressed to find a story that hasnt been twisted beyond recognition on a major news network.
I'm not a huge fan of Romney's politics, either but I can see the point that horse should not be on his taxes as a business expense unless they are making a profit from it then in that case it they wouldn't qualify for Olympics. Either it is therapeutic or a business.

Hmm first I really need to ask how you figure a business cannot own an olympic horse? And yes the horse can be on his business expenses and still be used by his wife personally. That would be like saying you cannot check your personal email from a work computer. Do you think that therapy dogs don't go home with their owners and maybe the owners then find the dog comforting? I have to imagine that there has to be some olympic horses that are owned by businesses. What if the horse wins and they breed it and make money. Seems easiest to report that money by a business to deduct the expenses incurred.
But really if dressage is only for the rich I really wish someone would have told me that before I decided to do dressage. Oh yea and I watch a theraputic riding program every week, and it's free...
Another case of no research or reading done at all, before bringing something up on national TV.
And its unforgivable because those TV stations defintely have researchers, who obviously didn't do their jobs.
Nevermind that O'Donnels obviously couldn't care less about doing a little reading or fact checking himself. Posted via Mobile Device
Any horse sport pursued at a national/international level is "breathtakingly expensive", dressage no more so than eventing, racing, etc. Heck, for most of us ALL horses are breathtakingly expensive, lol.
