Sorry for loack of response guys!! Life been manic this end.
Unfortunately, QD was found to have a spavin in the hock, and irregularities in the 'toe' joint.. I don't know what you guys call it, but the bone was not so much malformed, but wasn't smooth, not navicular but no one could say how long he'd stay right for, and as he wasn't in consistent work, I could work him for 2 weeks then he'd be lame... it wasn't worth the risk so I passed.
Absolutely no hard feelings from the family though they completely understand and want to stay in touch and the girl wants to watch my first competition which is nice!
I tried a 4yo out... first ride I was thinking wow, second ride she was an absolute demon.. no joke... someone has really messed that poor girl up.
Last weekend I tried another out, lovely black mare, rider let her get away with murder though and she was lazy, I gave her a good run around and we were both sweaty by the end.. I put my offer in, she said she'd call in the morning after speaking to her husband, then I phoned in the afternoon and she'd sold the horse to someone else who offered more. Ah well.
I have one this evening, one Sunday and one Monday though!!
