Stock ties

I will hopefully be doing some low dressage comps and dressage as part of eventing- and I am so clueless about what to wear!

With a navy jacket and white breeches, what colour stock ties are appropriate? Please post links to cheap pre- tied stocks in australia if you know of any!

I saw one that is white with navy piping?

Is it acceptable to just wear a ratcatcher shirt with no stock?
( Will only be newcomers level eventing!)

I don't think I've ever seen a colored stock tie; it seems to me like white and off-white base colors are what are worn generally. I have one that is white with navy pinstriping and I've never had any issues, so a white with navy piping should be appropriate. I'm not sure if it is a rule or just the norm to wear white but I would suggest sticking to white as a base with neutral accent colors (navy, hunter green etc.) if you wish - no hot pink piping or something of the like. I would suggest steering away from anything that is not a white or off-white base color though (if they even make those?). I am not familiar with Australia's rules so I would suggest to make sure you double check the national rules on the dress attire before your show so you know for sure.

I'm not familiar with ratcatcher shirts, so I can't say yay or nay to those.

Eek don't go coloured, that's for hackies!

I always match my stock to my breeches. If white breeches, I'll always wear a white stock. I got mine from Wagners, it is white with some satin decorative pattern, and a pale blue and silver very delicate round pin.
If the comp is formal dress, then always wear a stock. The only time I don't wear one is when they announce summer dress at a low key official, or at an associate day when I'll just wear a collared polo.
You can also get stocks that are pre-tied with velcro fastening at the back. I love mine, makes it SO much easier to get ready!

Coloured stocks are common in the stock ring. I just meant should I go white orcream ot something. Ratcatcher is just the shirt with the collar strip bit haha
