USDF Rider Awards

M'kay, so I thought I was all cool and could navigate the USDF website. Who was I kidding? That place is a maze.

I'm not near getting my bronze medal yet, but my trainer said that there was an award for having four scores in Training Level. I do want to slowly work up to getting a gold medal. Anyways, I can't find anything about anything lower than a bronze medal. I could barely find the requirements for anything! Help please?

There are award medals (Bronze, silver and gold) but nothing lower and Rider performance Awards. Rider Performance Awards are for riders at: Training, First, and Second Levels, are based on the scroes the rider achieves over time. They do not need to be earned in one year.

To get awards Rider must be a USDF participating member or have a Group Membership (local dressage clubs MAY provide this if you're a member). Horse must meet minimum competition eligability requirements on the date the score is earned (I think this means at least 4? Years of age but call USDF is that's a concern). Scores may be earned on more than a single horse. Ider must have earned four scores of 60% or above at the level for which they're competing (e.g. Training level).

Scores must be from AT LEAST 4 different judges, 4 different rides and at least TWO different USEF-USDF recognized competitions.

That's it (per USDF website) except to not that you have to APPLY for the award. It's also good to note that as soon as a competition is over and the results have been posted to make certain that USDF both has the results AND that the results are correct.

A little confused. I NEED to apply for it, or I DON'T?

Also, I came across "USDF Qualified Rider Patch" while searching Google last night. Is that related to Rider Performance Awards or is it something else?
