western dressage !

does anyone have an experience with western dressage ?

Im going to be taking my pony to a show and doing western dressage just for fun. Its been 5 years since he's been shown. We used to do novice level eventing and he was EXTREMELY successful. He is a naughty little guy =P

I just want to take him because he misses showing and my moms horse needs a buddy. I don't really know how to ride western, but I never ride scout english any more.

Has anyone ever done it or have any tips ?

Here is a link to the tests

Western Dressage Tests

I will definitely be doing primary tests.

Here are some pics of scoutie, just for fun =]

I believe GH did some while back.

I am a Horse Illustrated (magazine) subscriber and they had a section on Western Dressage in one of their issues. I bet they'd have some info on the website.

God bless, englishaqh (:

IMO western dressage is more "western" than "dressage" so maybe try posting in the western section of the forum?

Have you tried this website? Western Dressage Association® of America | I just recently learned about western dressage so can't really answer any questions but that site would probably be a good starting point.
