    What to work on first

Our next event is on the 14th. Any and all suggestions are welcome. The main things that stick out to me are the trotting in the canter circle and turning too early onto the center line. Overall we were both tense and nervous- hoping to eliminate that within the next few shows.

    Comments on the test:
AXMC- working trot 7... Well balanced
    HEKA- working trot 7
    A- 20m Circle working trot 7
Between K and A- working canter left lead 7... slight loss of balance
A- 20m circle working canter 5... broke stride
Between F and B- working trot 6... show better balance, stayed straight
    Between M and C- medium walk 7
HXF- free walk Between F and A- medium walk 6x2... allow more rein
    for better stretch
    AKEH- working trot 7
    C- 20m circle working trot 7
    Between H and C working canter 7
    C- 20m circle working canter 7
    Between M and B working trot 7
A down center line 6... undershot turn
    X halt, salute 6...not straight

    Gaits, Impulsion, Rider 7's
    Submission 6
Overall: 34.0 (or 66% for the dressage people)

I would've been a lot tougher about judging this test personally. It is a beginner novice test, and the horse is coming 5, but I still feel like we could've done much better. It was the first dressage test of the season, so hopefully we will both be much more relaxed next weekend. What are your opinions?

    How did you do?

    Much better!

On the 20m canter circle at A we went from a 5 to a 7
    Working trot b/t F and B went from 6 to 7
Free walk went from 6 to 7
Down center line before salute went from 6 to 8
    Submission: from 6 to 7
    Rider: from 7 to 8

We ended 3rd on our dressage score of 31.5

There were some scores that went down, but overall I was really happy with the test. This judge wrote more, so I know that I have to work on consistant engagement of her back.

Well done!!! I can't wait to watch your test. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the last one and then seeing the judge's notes along side it. Really helped me as a rider to see what they are seeing.

Still you ride really nicely. And your horse is trying :)
