Let's see....Me, my seat. Lots of exercises to get more supple, no stirrups, very short stirrups, etc.

Horse, working on not letting him run through my outside aids, using his back more at the canter, and stretching more into the bridle aka long and low at all gaits.

You just have to see your distance...you don't have to like it.

My biggest challenges are getting a clean canter depart and bending correctly at the corners.

Calypso's circles are coming along nicely and her trot is really nice. She rides into contact well and once she takes the bit connection is pretty good.

Goal is to get solid training level scores this season.

I'm working on improving my seat and position. It's a never ending battle and I'm not exactly winning at this point. Also working on being forward and rhythmic. I'm a beginner so I'm still hammering out the basics.

Right now I am riding about 4-5 days a week, working on strengthening my Boy's back end, and getting him to lift his back up into my seat. Lots of trot sets, backing up and getting him to track forward, moving under himself and getting him to strengthen up.

Well, our canters were improving, then they started getting sticky again, so I have to go back a step--or two-- and work on getting honest, clean canter strides again, none of that up-and-down stuff.

The fundamentental is still: better response to the leg. When my horse moves out (usually away from home) we have hardly any problems with paces, lateral movements, even halts are better.

Dressage is just constantly refining the "go" and "stop" aids, and collection is when the horse is balanced between the two almost exactly. Right now I'm working with Rowan on keeping him infront of my leg, without running away. To do this I'm using a lot of Dr. Caeser Parra's stuff about neck control and riding up to the contact and using only a balancing rein, working the half halt with my body.
Some of the exercises I'm using to help refine the aids are half steps, walk halt transitions, flexion and stretching in the halt, walk trot transitions, transition within the trot to get the extended feel in the collection and the collected feel in the extension, and walk canter or trot canter transitions to help me keep half halting during transitions, and help him not to use his neck.
Intermittently we also school the movements in the PSG and I1 to help me get a feel for putting the tests together, and to test the aids and connection.

I'm working on keeping Freddy sound, and getting a cooperative trainer. Other than than we have been working on moving hip, lateral, responding to leg in general, an keeping a decent headset. We've also been working on not taking off full speed when I ask for a lope and going forward off leg. He is not very responsive go my leg and I almost always need a dressage whip.
