Well, I recently experienced my horse free longing himself in the indoor and doing fantastic, clean, effortless, flying changes, so I think I'm going to learn how to cue properly for those pretty things. To date I hadn't put much effort into it since I didn't know what he was capable of, but the little sucker showed his cards, so now I'm gonna try to find the right buttons.

You just have to see your distance...you don't have to like it.

Worked a bit on the GP test today... not bad! I got some really nice one tempi changes bareback! Canter pirouettes are getting better and better.

FINALLY. Got in a lesson for ME!!
So nice to get those little reminders and have someone take you back to riding around on a 20m circle holding the buckle of the reins and yelling "INSIDE LEG AT THE GIRTH!!" Bwahahahahaha. It's the tiniest little things that creep into your riding that really affect it, and honestly the more you know and focus on other folks and their riding, it's so easy to get complacent with yourself.
Both horses are going like mad! Jan 1 I have some new clients so hopefully all goes well and I can get some horses sold, then to horse shopping!

Also my **NEW** fancy boots came today and they are fabulous :) Navy patent, embossed with my initials, navy spur straps. No bling. Next boots will be bling boots. These ones look so cute with my new Casco and my show jacket. Need to hunt down a shad now...

They say money doesn't buy happiness -- well happiness doesn't buy horses!

With my 1st horse I am working on cantering poles and jumping (and not avoiding). At first he didn't think he could canter a series of poles (only 1 by itself) and he wouldn't even try it, but now he can get over four in a row before he gives up and either trips or starts trotting. I'm very proud. :) And he just started jumping and we are working on not avoiding it...not fun!! Oh, and we are working on getting the right lead on the right canter. For some reason he isn't wanting to take the correct lead, but I wasn't totally aware of it until today (been busy working on other things) so it should improve now that it is more on my mind.

On my green pony we are working on cantering (getting the canter). His trot is pretty solid as is the canter on the lunge line but under saddle he doesn't want to canter, so we'll be working more on the voice command to go with it. He has been under saddle for about a month and a half so he is doing sooooo well. Only had one incident so far, and it was very very mild. He is one sweet man.

I am working on the sitting trot, with and without stirrups. My horse and I have also been working on leg yields at the trot, shoulder ins, and lift. Over Christmas break I am going to look for some dressage tests for my daughter and I to practice while we score and video each other.

Hopefully by spring I'll be ready for a few training level dressage show class.

My boy finally gets home at the end of this month, friends! Eeee. Once /I'm/ all fixed, I can't wait to start riding again.
In the meantime, it's so lovely to hear that people are making progress and setting goals.

Keep up the good work, everyone!

I see Sky in 4 days! We'll just be getting to know each other again and working on nice rhythm and relaxation.

Had my first ride on Billy!!!!
Wooooowie he is a reactive little chap but very confident and cheeky. I am going to have to be so careful with him as they can be really great traits if you channel them in the right direction, but scarey if you start making training blunders.
He wants to fall in on his left shoulder - I'm keen to get him lunging in side reins as soon as possible to start rectifying that. I don't trust my ability enough in the saddle at the moment after 8 months off to be quiet and balanced enough to achieve that alone at this point.

I am so keen to get stuck into his training, but need to tread so carefully for the next 4 weeks, I can't afford an injury before I graduate!

Skyseternalangel--Where is Sky now? I'm sure it says somewhere, but 41 pages is a lot to go through! x.x
I'll be getting to see Gator around the same time :>
