I'll be getting to see Gator around the same time :>
He's in Louisiana with my good friend :) I last saw him when he was still in DC so I'm hoping that we can pick up around where we left off!

I'm so excited!!

I'm happy you get to see your Gator soon, too!

Well, I saw Cavalia on Sunday, so I'm feeling rather inspired. I really want to have a crack at roman riding and trick riding! That will compliment dressage right??? And 32 isn't too old to start throwing myself around???

I just had my first ride on Billy at home.
Lunged him first and started him in side reins. Zero resistance to them and immediately his balance improved out of sight. In a few minutes he'd starting stretching into the contact, opening his shoulders and softening his back.

Hopped on and had a few practice runs at his handbrake (one rein stops on a breaker are a wonderful thing!) then popped him up to a trot. I don't trust that I am riding even near we enough at the moment to stay totally quiet, so hooked a few fingers under the Jesus strap to stay out of his way. He will be working round very quickly, he wants to reach into the contact and began picking up some very baby leg yield steps when I'd push him out onto the bigger circle.

They're coming ;)
A friend took some for me this morning but she hasn't gotten home yet to upload them.
I let him have a play out in the arena last night too and she got some awesome shots, I'll post them once she sends them all to me.

Which show did you see? I was at the 7pm one I have to say, I felt rather inspired myself...

We're working on getting more leg responsiveness, already so much better! Just bought a pair of spurs too :)
Also working on shufting weight correctly for leg yeilds: as I tend to put more weight in the right sturrip, and Cloud likes to dump me there. Lots of correct bending work.

We had an amazing moment today when Cloud collected himself of his own free will (no asking at all, we werent even working on it) and trotted me around practically launching us forward! Only lasted for about a minute, but it was heaven :)

I'm currently working on keeping Sovayn's jaw soft and keeping him forward. Haha I know this sounds like a beginner move with the whole forward thing, but Sovayn has arthritis and its been REALLY cold latley. When we aren't working on that, we are working on our legyeilds.
