What's your best experience in dressage?
I had mine today. I was blessed with the opportunity to ride a very high-end dressage horse today. Nothing I have ridden in my life even comes close to this horse. Just sitting on his back felt other-worldly.
My own horse I love to death. Retraining him for dressage has been fun, he’s progressing up to 3rd level, and we’ve only hit minor bumps along the way.
I hopped on other horse today, and within only minutes of knowing him, this horse granted me my first pirouettes, extended gaits, and a 10 halt. And he was so Light! And Forgiving! What surprised me was that this horse’s gaits were HUGE, and felt like a dream to sit. My own guy had me thinking I’d never be able to sit a trot properly. I’ve ridden other FEI horses as well, and nothing compares.
If I won the lottery right now, I’d snatch him up in a heartbeat. Alas, it will not be, and I am quite sure I will never sit on anything of that caliber ever again. However, it has absolutely motivated me with my own horse. Even though he will never have the same package, he has tons of potential, and is progressing very quickly. I can’t wait to see where both horses end up!
Does anyone have a favorite or moment-changing experience in dressage?
