Exclamation Working on Gaining Balance and Rhythm HELP!

Ok, short shorty short version! Horse had a MONSTER DEMON SATANIC abscess and started bucking at the canter and her gaits were all messed up even on the lunge line. We got it fixed but she had to be on stall rest for a very long time. All the progress we made in western pleasure training (just the basics we hadn't even graduated from a snaffle) she and I both forgot. We moved to a new barn where they do dressage (which is what I want to do) and I started retraining her... again. The problem is, she still is really confused about where to put her feet and she's very forward. I cantered her once and she did not buck so I'm confident the bucking problem was due to the abscess and not behavior. I'm a little weary about riding her since I had her off for so long so I was planning on just working with her on lunge work and liberty training and I was going to start vaulting (to help get my seat and confidence back).
SO, what steps should I take to get her moving correctly? Is it just repetition and something she has to learn? Or is there a specific sequence that I must follow to make it work? Should I focus more on work on the lunge line or work in the saddle? Any advice is appreciated!

Without a video it's really tough to give any advice. Taking lessons at the new barn is probably your best bet.
Good luck!
