Okay so i was just looking around on the enternet, and i realized how out of it I am to the dressage world! lol, So, I decided to findout who everyones favourite FAMOUS dressage horse is!
I say famous because i know most people would choose their horse (lol, i would too!) or their hroses sire or damn, so it cant be related to your horse in any way
My favourite would have to be Courtney Kings Mythilus, hes jsut so pretty! lol, and I love Courtney King as a trainer, so they were both a treat to watch!
whos yours?
Mythilus isn't alive anymore. He had to be uthanized, colic surgery complications. Even more sad to me was Courtney King-Dye didn't remember after awakening from her coma and had to go through the pain of being told again.
For Sweden; Jan Brink retired from the international ring last year, and also retired Briar from showing for good shortly after competing in the 2009 World Cup. VIDEO.
Ravel:
For the US; on of my favourite teams. Ravel can be a bit of a slowcoach, but that's part of what makes him able to perform so readily and without tension. One of my favourite rides: VIDEO.
Warum Nicht:
For Germany; Isabell calls him "Hans" around the barn, and always half jokes about how he's such a spook and a rather odd character. But I like him, he sort of reminds me of my old lease, Freddy - big, silly, and a bit of a wimp! VIDEO.
Balagur:
For Russia; Balagur has an unlikely history and is actually the only Orlov Trotter to have ever competed in the international dressage ring. This video was actually uploaded on my old YouTube account and tells a bit of his history in the description. VIDEO.
I also love Rafael Soto's Invasor, Bernadette Pujal's Vincent (though I haven't seen or heard anything of this pair since 2006), of course Matine, and Courtney King-Dye will always be on of my favourite riders along with Debbie McDonald, no matter the horses they ride (same goes for Steffen Peters and Jan Brink).
Courtney's Mythilus had so much talent, but he unfortunately passed away on October 9th, 2009.
Very mainstream here, but I adored Donnerhall, he was by far my favourite dressage stallion. I'm also a big Rubenstein fan - saving my pennies to get myself a Rotspon youngster one day!
I love Rubenstein (I'm right that he's passed on now?) - his line is full of wonderful horses! And Donnerhall's line I also love, and me and my friends always like to make up silly names off of his (like the metalheads in dressage joke - Donmassacre, Donnerhell, Bodomhall...).
Which reminds me about Don Schufro. Does anyone know who's riding him since Andreas broke off from BlueHors?
And I have to say Liaison (ridden by Claire Wallace) just because I'm biased, Liaison is beautiful and Claire does a fantastic job of running around the country competing Liaison as well as running Lexington Performance Horses and running one of our local equestrian groups - http://www.cyberhorse.net.au/tve/dressage/news/2006/joernclinic/claire.jpg
