Can I brag?

I hope you all don't mind if I brag a little. I have been sick all summer and we had planned to put my haflinger cross in a driving competition in October. I could not make it but my husband had been working with Goldie for several months and felt comfortable taking my place. Now Goldie is 9 so he is experienced pulling but we are new to the sport. Anyway, my hubby competed against 2 other light drafts and took second place! My little haffie was a real hit with the crowd and got a standing ovation. Well, maybe it was for hubby...LOL

Below is a picture of horse and hubby with ribbon. Thanks for letting me brag. Next year it will be my turn.

We aren't sure about braiding haflingers either but we figured its better to do it and not need to than to not do it and need it. I enjoy braiding his thick long mane. I didn't do it in this picture as I was still at home recovering from pneumonia. A friend did it for us.

Someday I think we'll purchase one of those fancy patten collars and the competiton harness. That's wayyyy in the future, though.

What good looking boys! Congradulations on your ribbon, and it looks like they had a lot of fun getting it! Also hoping and praying for a quick recovery for you, its no fun to be sick!
