Reconditioning a horse after 2 years off

So our mini mare chocolate has had 2 years off driving because I have been in school and she has been having babies. We've decided to start her back into work, and I was just wondering if there were some ways I could condition her again for driving aside from lunging which we are doing, I just don't want to get some fitness in her then hook up and go. If anyone has some suggestions, they are very appreciated!

You can still hitch her and go for a drive. Just done go so long and make sure to warm up well with lots of walking. Then drive for a 15-20 mins and work up from there.
